Ronaldo more impressive than Messi, says Carlos

Roberto Carlos claims that Cristiano Ronaldo should be selected as the Ballon d’Or winner ahead of Lionel Messi.

Real Madrid forward Ronaldo won the coveted prize, awarded to the player recognised as the best in the world for the calendar year, in 2013 and is among the three contenders for the honour this time around.

Messi and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer are the Portuguese’s challengers for the award, but former Real and Brazil left-back Carlos believes it is the former Manchester United man who is most deserving of the accolade.

“I am a big fan of Lionel Messi, but Cristiano Ronaldo has been more impressive,” Carlos told Perform. “Everything he does goes right. He is a leader.

“I am not saying that because he is a Real Madrid player. This is not the point here. Messi is incredible and his history in football is marvellous. But we have to choose the best player in the season and that was Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Neuer was one of the stars of Germany’s successful World Cup campaign, yet despite the shot-stopper’s achievements, Carlos feels that Messi’s Barca team-mate Neymar should have been the other candidate for the prize.

DSS parades Shettima’s aide, six other fake B’Haram negotiators

The Department of State Service has arrested an aide to Borno State Governor, Junaid Khadi, and six other associates of the self-styled Australian negotiator, Stephen Davis, who claimed to be Boko Haram commanders and organised a fake ceasefire negotiation with the Federal Government.

The suspects allegedly collected millions of Naira from the Federal Government while giving the impression that they were members of the deadly sect interested in a ceasefire agreement.

The other suspects include Abubakar Yusuf (a.k.a. Baba Sani); Saleh Ibrahim (a.k.a Liman Ibrahim; Abdullahi Saleh (a.k.a Babadale); Nurudeen Ibrahim; Mubarak Adamu (a.k.a. Molo); and Mustapha Maidugu (a.k.a Musty/Small).

Parading the suspects on Tuesday in Abuja, the Deputy Director, Public Relations, DSS, Marilyn Ogar, explained that following allegations by Davis on August 29, 2014, that a former Borno State governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, and a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika were sponsoring Boko Haram, the service initiated an in-depth investigation into the accusations.

Consequently, she said, the seven suspects, who were Davis’ associates, were arrested and it was established that they were part of a well orchestrated plan to spread falsehood, undermine and discredit the efforts of the government to end terrorism in the country.

Ogar described the Australian and his cohorts as part of several local and international groups who were out to “make merchandise of the Boko Haram insurgency through concocted and fabricated stories.”

She explained that Khadi confessed to have known Davis since 2006 and that he introduced one Aisha Wakil, a lawyer, to the Australian as a credible link to top members of the violent Islamic sect.

Ogar said, “Khadi is a 45-year-old Kanuri man from Borno State. He was an aide to the Borno State Governor, Kassim Shettima, and he confessed that he and one Gen. Ashafa went with Davis on a journey to a remote part of Marte Local Government Area of Borno State, on a false mission to rescue the abducted Chibok schoolgirls.

“He deliberately conspired to blackmail and implicate Ali Modu Sheriff, a former governor of Borno State, and one Mala Othman, a former state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress as sponsors of the Boko Haram sect. He said he did this by mounting pressure on the fake Boko Haram commanders, particularly Abubakar Yusuf, to affirm that Sheriff was indeed a sponsor.”

Ogar stated that Khadi made the claim to give weight to his scam and compel the government to negotiate with the fraudulent group. But when this failed, he said he sold the idea to Davis to conjure the indictment of Ihejirika based on allegations that the military under him, was responsible for several failed attempts by the Australian to make contact with the Presidency.

“Khadi also confessed that he organised several meetings between the purported Boko Haram commanders and Davis in Abuja and he was privy to a Youtube video, an interview on Voice of America and he also used Davis’ camera to capture snapshots of Davis in a group photograph with some fake commanders of the sect,” she narrated.

Ibrahim, who was a casual member of staff of the Borno Radio Television, confessed to have joined the sect in 2003 and was an ardent follower of the late Mohammed Yusuf until 2005 when he quit the sect to join the BRTV.

The suspect told journalists during an interview that Khadi paid him N300,000 for his role in the mischievous media campaign by Davis.

Other suspects also said they received various amount of money after participating in a government-sponsored dialogue with the sect, adding that they also met with Ambassador Hassan Tukur, the Principal Secretary to President Jonathan and the Taminu Turaki-led dialogue committee as top members of Boko Haram Shura Council, a claim which was false.

All Progressives Congress VP Nomination Process: Tinubu Snubs Buhari

Former governor of Lagos state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reportedly spurned entreaties from Muhammad Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to submit a fresh list of nominees to be considered for the second spot on the presidential ticket. The national leader of the APC shunned a general caucus meeting of the APC in Abuja last night because of hostility by state governors in the party towards his candidature.
In a rejoinder sent to Saharareporters earlier today, Mr. Tinubu declared his interest becoming the Vice Presidential candidate to Buhari, affirming that as a great mobilizer, he was most suited to be Buhari’s running mate. His position, however, is at variance with the position of party caucus members who have decided against fielding a Muslim/Muslim ticket.

Contrary to the wisdom of the top hierarchy of the party, Tinubu averred in his statement that religion could not be a barrier against his ambition.
SaharaReporters sources disclosed that party chairman John Odigie-Oyegun has submitted 10 names to Buhari for his consideration, leaving him at liberty to decide whom he wanted as his running mate following the Monday night party deadlock.

Buhari reportedly reached out to Tinubu today to nominate at least three people to be considered, but the former governor refused, claiming that he remains the most qualified candidate for the second spot on the presidential ticket.

Mr. Oyegun told the press that the party will announce a candidate by Wednesday.

WHY PEOPLE ARE GREEDY

What is greediness? Strongly desiring more than required: Having an overwhelming desire to have more of something such as money than is actually needed. In a nation today, greediness has caused a lot of bad things, which is causing a bad effect on the nation. Both politicians and civilians are greedy, just a few are good and fair. From my view, people are greedy because they don’t want to be poor, they are afraid of being poor, which is sometimes normal for we humans.

'Why I Criticize Jonathan Publicly' - Obasanjo Finally reveals!

At an occasion in Lagos where he publicly presented his controversial memoir, former President, Olusegun Obasanjo spoke in defense of why he publicly criticizes President Goodluck Jonathan in recent time despite having access to him. He linked his open criticism of the present administration to Jonathan’s lack of receptive ears.

Speaking Obasanjo said: “You will see a few letters I put in the book that were correspondences between me and the president and how I described my frustration of going privately to the president, taking up issues with him and getting no reaction.

"When I was president, I had my predecessors who would come to me, some with written notes and I would give answers and react and if I cannot give answers and react there immediately, I will say: ‘give me time, let me do something’ and I would react.

"That’s the way I believe it should be. He should be able to come, talk to me and I give you an answer. You would see in the book some of my reactions in the past. So if you have audience but you have no receptive ears, then you must have another way of communication. That’s what has happened," he said.

The former president, who used his speech to react to a court injunction against the publication of the book secured by the Chairman Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-West Committee on Mobilisation and Organisation, Chief Buruji Kashamu, said he refused to obey the court injunction because he completed the production of the book three weeks before the presentation.

"The book had been printed and published before that man went to court. I don’t regard that. Another thing you don’t know is that the man went to court and today (the day the book was presented) was fixed for hearing. After that, he went to another judge to get injunction at 5pm on Friday. What is that? If there is anything illegal, you know I won’t be part of it. We are here lawfully, legally and we will continue to act lawfully and legally," he assured.

Education- The Best Legacy

There is a saying that Educations is the best legacy that either a Parent or guardian can give to a child. Without education in this century, it is difficult to succeed.
Successful people in the world are successful because they were educated to some certain stage in life.
Most people said Bill gates didn't go to school, Yes, he didn't. But he later went to Harvard University to complete his Education.
It is really good to be educated. Sometimes, educated people can't be cheated.

Even if you are not good in class, try your best to be one of the best in the class. Read as much as you can. Rome wasn't built in a day. You can achieve a lot in everything you do.      Twitter @dykeunac

What is your Ambition in Life?

Definition

Ambition is the strong desire to do or achieve something.
The ambition of people {students} towards something is "abnormal". People don't take things seriously, they think "life" is as easy as it is.
We students prefare the so called technology to our education. And why?
There is nothing like strong desire called AMBITION

Your Ambition can be many things, like getting a car, building a house, a wife even want to be the President of a Country. It all deals with determination toward what you want.
Some people's ambition is to have a PhD, some wants to change the future and some people want to change the world. To me personally, i believe it is all possible, provided you determine that you really want to do it. Think about what you really want and i believe it is possible to achieve it.

THANK YOU.

WOW!! SEE What Akon Did To Avoid Ebola While Performing At A Show In Congo!

http://assets8.capitalfm.com/2009/23/akon-1244405231-gallery-detail-0.jpg

The artiste was reported to have been in a giant bubble while performing at a concert in Goma, DRC. This obviously is to prevent coming into contact with people who may infect him with the Ebola virus.

The successful US hip hop and R&B artist was reported to have performed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s city of Goma as part of the country’s International Day of Peace celebrations last month.

Akon in the contraption while performing in Montreal, Canada. No cases of Ebola have been reported in Canada.

The singer however did not make it known that he pulled the stunt because of Ebola fears as many have speculated. What also made many to talk about the performance was that this wasn’t the first time that Akon crowd surfed in the contraption.

Corrupt Nation (A case study in Nigeria)

The major reason why a nation is really corrupt is the fact that the leaders are afraid to be poor. There are corruption in all the levels of Government. Starting from the Federal Government, State Governments and the Local Governments, corruption dominates everywhere. I came to a conclusion that why are we poor? I realize the if a poor man is brought to rule a nation, he also will surely disappoint, and why is that? He doesn't go back to the same level he came from. The only person that can rule a nation like this must be an extra ordinarily God fearing man. We need to rise up as one nation, voice out and let the fear of God be in us. No matter our tribe, religion we must always be one. Peace in NIGERIA...... Twitter, @dykeunac

OAU Students Barricade Lagos-Ibadan Express Way To Protest School Fees Hike

Great Ife students as they are fondly called was left with no other option than to take their struggle out of the walls of Obafemi Awolowo University Campus.

This is coming after series of failed consultations of stakeholders and negotiations with the school management. Students mobilized as early as 7am today and moved in their thousands to the OUI roundabout where the four connecting roads were barricaded. The men of the Nigerian Police Force are there maintaining order BUT no single vehicle was allowed through.

It will be recalled that the Prof. Bamitale Omole led University Council last 2 weeks ratified a decision to astronomically hike the school fees of Great Ife Students. With that, students fees will increase from N17,500 to N91,000 without adding yet the N20,000 acceptance fees and another hiked accomodation fee
